During a week in Los Angeles (LA) with our daughter Monique we spent a lot of time in the car. The longer one is in LA the more one appreciates the so called congested highways and byways of the Twin Cities. No matter the time of day or day of the week the traffic in LA is outrageous and this drives my travel partner nuts. Me–I see it as a challenge.
Seeing Monique has been the highlight of our trip–perhaps I should say it is at the top of a long list of highlights.
During our visit we hiked the hills of the San Gabriel Mountains that adjoin the San Fernando Valley home of Sunland, CA and of our daughter too.
We also hiked in Griffith Park made famous by its observatory and by James Dean’s film “Rebel without a Cause”. And the views were often spectacular; the trails were dusty and the weather was extremely dry.
